Clearfield, Utah, May 21st, 2007 Petzl America, a leading manufacturer of quality climbing gear, announces the launch of a partnership with the HERA (Health, Empowerment, Research, and Advocacy) Foundation, in which sales proceeds of a co-branded carabiner will raise funds for HERAs initiatives in treating ovarian cancer. HERA is a non-profit foundation dedicated to raising awareness for ovarian cancer and empowering women to take control of their health, with the intention of combating the disease. For every HERAbiner sold, Petzl will donate $1 to HERA, raising funds and awareness of the foundation. The limited edition carabiner is Petzls popular Attache Lock model engraved with HERA Climb4Life and featuring the foundations signature turquoise blue. HERAbiners are sold with a small information tag briefly explaining several key facts women need to know about ovarian cancer. The Petzl M35SL is a manually locking carabiner particularly intended for attachment to the belay and belaying directly from the anchor point. The pear-shaped design and round cross-section of the Attache gives excellent ease of use for belaying with an Italian (Munter) hitch. A compact carabiner, it is easily manipulated with one hand and its light weight makes it the ideal companion for mountaineering and rock-climbing. Weighs 78 grams.
