Should fat people be forced to lose weight to save our health care system?

Wednesday, March 10th, 2010

The ugly truth is obesity is why the health care system is so expensive here in the United States and nobody wants to take responsibility for their own weight!
Jackie – ?
Actually, the harsh reality is fat people do ruin our health care system and if everybody was thin and healthy, our health care system would be perfect!

that is such a rude thing to say it is not the only reason that our health care system is so expensive there is many factors to it than just that. you people sit and say things like this and the fact is that you guys are only seeing that and you really should look at all the factors to all the reason’s. another thing is that if people could afford to pay the bills that they get that would help lower cost and then if people like ya’ll wouldn’t judge people the way you are maybe some of them would have self esteams to get up and do something about it. the barbie figure is so way off base and besides that if you want to label people "fat" what should you be labeled?

also would you want to be forced to do something that maybe you didnt want to or couldnt some of the people that are over weight can not help it and wished they could so maybe instead of wanting to push people in the dirt maybe we should try to help them cause god knows no boundries he loves us all the same and tries to help ALL of us.

Is 10 minutes worth of exercise of any use towards heart health/weight loss?

Monday, March 8th, 2010

I am what they call "Super Morbid Obese" and i am trying to lose weight and my endurance is for crap. i know 30 minutes a day, 3 -5 times a week is recommended amount of exercise but i am lucky if i can do 10 minutes at a time. so my question is this…is any amount of exercise useful? even if it is only for 2-5-10 minutes? or is it pointless if i can’t do for longer?

One thing you could try is when you’re working out, staggering your cardio. Like do 5 or 10 minutes, take a break, do some other exercises like strength training, then go back and do another 5 or 10 minutes of cardio. You will gradually be able to increase your time and start seeing some good results. =] This is what I do and it seems to work for me.

Question about laxatives as weight loss for health and fitness class.?

Sunday, February 28th, 2010

I am writing a paper on the abuse of laxatives as a weight loss method for health and fitness class. I have found nearly all of the information that was required; however, I cannot find how many laxatives an "abuser" takes for weight loss. All that comes up when I look it up is a bunch of senseless people saying that they want to use them to lose weight. Could anybody tell me approximately how many a person like this would take at a time, or even throughout a day. Thank you!

There is no specific set of times you take a laxative to be considered abuse. Just like how there’s no official number of calories you have to eat to be considered anorexic or number of times you throw up to be considered bulimic.

I could be considered to abuse laxatives because I take them at least once a month, but because I have to (if you know what I mean), rather than using them as a form of weight loss. Since I was advised by my doctor it’s okay to use them, it shouldn’t be considered abuse.

My assumption would be you take them everyday or at least a few times per week not on a doctor’s orders and purposely doing so to lose weight.

Which has more about health/weight loss?: Should i order Seventeen or Cosmogirl magazine?

CosmoGirl is no longer publishing in print, so there’s only one answer to your question.
